Helpful Apps:

Waze: for directions

Many GPS apps will not find many of the locations. WAZE is the most reliable for the area.

***For GPS purposes, you can use Broken Bow as the city in place of Hochatown as GPS might still be updating the city name. Most attractions are settled right off highway 259 for easy accessibility.

Alltrails: hiking trails

***Make sure to download trails in the event you no longer have Wi-Fi or cell service

Fishing Licenses:

In Oklahoma, anglers can buy their fishing license in person from an authorized license dealer or from the Department of Wildlife Conservation website. All anglers 16 years of age or older must have a license. You can purchase online through the link below or in town at the local Walmart.

Additional Information:

Wi-Fi and cell service can be spotty all over Hochatown due to the density of the National Forest, especially from mid spring through early fall when everything is in full bloom. Please make sure to download anything you may need prior to setting out on your adventure.

As much as we hope you will unplug and unwind, we do offer FREE Wi-Fi. Please be aware, Wi-Fi can be weak or undependable at times due to the rural area and density of the woods. As this service is provided free of charge, it is your responsibility to follow all laws regarding internet services.

Kowi Properties and private cabin owners are not responsible for 3rd party services. In the exceedingly rare occurrence, a service does go down, please contact us immediately at 580-612-1071 or 501-514-7512. We will work as quickly as possible to troubleshoot the issue and with the provider to get services back up and running. Please keep in mind, the issue may be temporary due to the National Forest and restore naturally while other times 3rd party providers may take longer than we would like to resolve an issue. Some providers here in Hochatown are unfortunately closed on the weekends.

As all of the cabins are privately owned, many have employed Aegis Security. In this case, there will be a sign posted outside of the cabin as well as listed in the cabins listing, and there are cameras on each entrance/exit of the cabin. If you rent one of these cabins, please feel free to contact Aegis Security for any security concerns or nonmedical emergencies at 580-306-5911. Aegis Security is owned and operated by retired Sherriff Jason Ricketts and does have the authority to act on the behalf of the owners of each cabin they service. You may also contact the Sherriff's office for any assistance in security or safety concerns.

Please contact 911 for any and all medical emergencies.

The nearest hospital is McCurtain Memorial Hospital

There is a wide range of wildlife throughout the National Forest. This does include a wide variety of bugs, snakes, and animals. Each cabin is treated quarterly for pest control, however, bugs outside of the cabins, even on decks, are not within our control. Please keep an eye on your personal pets as the wildlife does include predators such as wolves, mountain lions, and black bears.

Check Out is 10AM. Check In is 4PM. Traffic can extend for miles during check out and check in times. Friday through Sunday are the heaviest days. Please plan accordingly. We can recommend some options to help you avoid this: leaving before check out time, stopping and have breakfest, doing some last minute sightseeing or shopping around time during check out times. When arriving in town, we recommend arriving up to an hour early and stopping for lunch, do some shopping, or sightseeing in the park before check in to avoid the heavy traffic.
